Mindful City Ann Arbor is Coming to a Close

Dear Mindfulness Friends,

After a wonderful 7-year run, Mindful City Ann Arbor is coming to a close.  The last “Being in Tune" mindfulness meditation session for the summer is scheduled in-person on August 31. That session will be our closing event.

Mindfulness Meditation will continue on Tuesdays at noon. For the fall of 2021, Rita Benn, through MC4ME (The Michigan Collaborative for Mindfulness in Education), has generously agreed to offer and coordinate virtual drop in meditations on ZOOM on Tuesdays at noon in the same way Mindful City has facilitated them.  She, along with other skilled facilitators affiliated with their organization, will lead these drop-in sessions. Log on to the Tuesday Zoom sessions at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89898605185.

We have enjoyed growing mindfulness in the community through our initial project of creating a weekly meditation session in collaboration with The Ark and subsequent mindfulness events with organizations including Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, Wonderfool Productions, Main Street Area Association, Michigan Theater, Simplicity Works, Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea, The Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tea Room, Neutral Zone, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission, and the City of Ann Arbor for the A2 Zero Carbon Neutrality Plan.

In recent years we have appreciated sharing with you the commitment to support mindfulness practice. We are grateful for the time you may have volunteered to Mindful City as well as your participation in our events.  We are aware of and thankful for the continued opportunities to learn about mindfulness and practice in community. Check our FaceBook page, https://www.facebook.com/mindfulcityA2/, for on-going mindfulness resources.

We will meet at The Ark in-person AND have our Zoom session for our last Being in Tune on August 31 from 12noon-1pm. We will meditate for 30 minutes and take a little time to say good-bye. In-person attendees must be vaccinated and are required to be masked inside as per The Ark's policy. Check our FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/mindfulcityA2/ for updates or changes to the August 31 session.  We hope you will be able to join us whether in person or on Zoom.
